Canon to increase prices?

On no terms take this tread starter as stoking the coles of rumour around here. Just after coming off an auction site and read that the owner was selling his 7d but if you waited unfortunately Canon were raising their prices because of the damage that was done to their factories. Me, i dont believe it. Sounds like someone wants a good price for their camera but then i began to think is there any crumb of truth to this story.:scratch
Kind regards
Patrick.

I haven't seen anything about it. Sure they Thai plants were affected, but those produce the rebel bodies. I thought the 7D and above were mfg'd in Japan, unless they have some Thai parts in them. I know hard drives are up 100%+ because most Mfgs make them there. But bodies? I don't see it. Canon just had rebates, that wouldn't be something they would do if they were raising, usually they do that at the end of life cycles of products.

Canon will raise their prices but it may or may not have anything to do with all the problems they've faced this year.
