Verifying Upload....

I have been trying to upload several videos in the past couple of days and getting this "Verifying Upload" issue whereby my videos get stuck in that stage and nothing happens. Videos in question are large, 1-1.5 GB in size, and it's quite frustrating to wait hours to upload them to only find out I have to do it again. I have tried IE with JAVA as well as chrome with HTML 5, both giving me the same result. This is ridiculous, can someone please help me out?

How long have you let it wait?

I let it wait for more than 3 hours, and yes I have already wrote to the technical support team, waiting for an answer. I am uploading with the explorer plugin now (right click -> send to smugmug), let's see how that goes.

Hmmm...do you have another computer/Internet connection you can try it on? headscratch.gif This would help eliminate the computer/connection as a culprit.

I have tried this on my mac book air, same result. I have contacted the support, they told me to run some tests that measures the quality of the connection as well as the speed, and obviously not so suprisingly, everything was fine, no package loss, <30 ms ping, and advertised upload/download speeds (22/5 Mbps).

I can tell you that 9 out of 10 times I try to upload a video of size greater than 1 GB this happens. Can you guys please get to the bottom of this? It's obvious that there is something wrong with the HTML5 uploader, and obviously that's the only uploader that supports > 1GB file sizes, therefore it might be difficult to pinpoint something on your servers (in fact, most likely your end is perfectly fine, its the uploader that's screwed up).

Can you either add this functionality (> 1GB file size) to other uploaders like the windows explorer plugin (that has 99% stability for me, its great)?

I really love smugmug, been using it for almost a year now on a daily basis, this is my first (and hopefully the last) glitch with your site, please fix it!:)

Can someone who knows what "verifying upload" does look into this? Maybe check the logs?

When I check my own logs from the control panel, I see "incomplete file", just for the record, not sure if it means anything.

I know this thread is a little old but i'm having this problem consistently with large quantity photo uploads as well. I usually leave my computer to upload over night and every morning without fail i wake up and see that only a 100+ photo's have uploaded and i'm stuck on "verify upload" on nearly all or all 3 uploads. This only occurs with large quantity uploads for me. My files are usually anywhere between 4mb-13mb. www.mikeks.smugmug.com
