Bay Photo Products

From the help pages, I found a link to Bay Photo Products. IT is a SmugMug page. It has many products that it seems we cannot sell. I'm not sure why SmugMug would list products that we can't sell.

Another issue for me, is that on the pricing page, it lists products for cards, for example, which I did price but when I go to a photo and click buy, the cards prices do not who up.

What is the scoop related to this? Can we get any input on timing for expansion of products?

It's all there in the 'set prices' tool. You can switch between EZprints and BayPhoto as a Pro user by clicking on either logo in the prints tab. Merchandise is always offered via EZprints.
You can find more information on the set prices tool here:

Ah. That is the link I was looking at. ON the first page it says 'Bay Photo', so I presumed it was all Bay Photo.

I thought I had to use one lab or the other. I'll try to go in and price some of the Merchandise from EZ Prints, and see if that then also shows up.

I still want more of Bay Photo's products.

OK. I went in and clickekd on EZ Prints. The items on this page (Books & More) do not show up.

Also, as I noted in my original post, priced cards which are in the price list, but they do not show up in the price list when clicking buy.

I did not see anything about the merchandise items in that help page.

"Books & More" contains items that aren't available through the SmugMug shopping cart, but are handled through partners. Those options are only available for you as the logged in account owner via the different "owner buy" options shown in the buy button for a gallery.

As a visitor, I can see the "create a card" option on one of your galleries just fine:

That's how visitors can access the card creator to create cards:

Ahhh....thanks! That explains why cards are not not in the price list. I suspect then that if we want to sell any of those, it would be wise to create a page promoting it. Otherwise many folks likely won't notice that, or even know they can do that.

SmugMug is a very nice tool for us to make sales, albeit not complete. Would be nice to be able to sell all the products, as well as allow customers to load their own photos for us to print.

Thanks for the quick answers. The support here is the best!

Thanks, yes. I've seen that. I will elxplore deeper, as it seems to imply I can create cards and they will show up in the gallery.

My point earlier was only that without having it on the price list, or creating a page to promote them, then the only way people browsing my site will know about them is if they happen to pay attention to the option pointed our earlier in this thread, 'Create a Card'. I suspect most people clicking on buy will alaready be expecting to buy that photo, not a card, and will select the first option 'This photo', not even noticing the option for cards. A basic marketing class I took once got on the topic about how people don't read rolleyes1.gif, ... and even knowing that, I am guilty of it myself, as evidenced by my not noticing the 'Create a Card' option under buy.

All that being said, the create a card method on the site is cool. I will likely try to create a page marketing it so that maybe some will sell.

As always, thanks for the great support.

    [EDIT]
I do see how you can create cards yourself and create a gallery to sell them. But as I investigate the prices, they are way to expensive to sell. No room for markup, comparing to other sites where folks can order cards.
