iPhone Video

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this question, but I took my daughters to see Disney on Ice this past weekend and use my iPhone to video some of the show. The longest clip is showing up as 559mb and I can't get it copied from my phone to my computer(Dell PC). Has anyone experienced this before and know of a solution to get it copied or moved? I was trying to get a copy on a flash drive so my oldest(Kindergarten) could take it to school and the teacher could let the whole class see it.

All suggestions are much appreciated!!!!

    Which iPhone?
What video formats does it support?
What video format did you use?
I presume that the video still plays on the iPhone?
Have you transferred other files from the phone to the computer before?
What method are you trying to use for the copy?
    What computer and OS?

    1. iPhone 4
2 & 3. Used the video function of the built-in camera. The files can be viewed using Quicktime.
    4. Yes. It is still on and plays on the phone.
    5. Yes. Ihave transferred 3 other files taken that same day. They were smaller files.
    6. Drag and drop.
    7. Dell Optiplex running XP Pro

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I was trying to get it to show up on the desktop, then I could move it to wherever I needed. One of my externals is FAT32. The file is showing up as a QMovie, Apple's Quicktime format.

See if you can sync the iPhone using iTunes. On the host computer, look in the path used for the sync backup. Something like, "C:\Documents and Settings\<userName>\Application Data\Apple Computer\MobileSync\Backup\<backupId>"

In that sub-directory you should find the files that are backed up from your iPhone. Sort by file size and copy the largest files, which should be your video files, into a new sub-directory. Rename the files with an "MOV" extension and they should play as a video file.

    From here:

You should be using iTunes 8.2 or better for Vista.

"Some" folks are claiming success using "iExplorer" to grab large files off the iPhone. It's free and available for both PC and Mac. Probably worth a try, but it does require a very recent version of iTunes on the computer as well.
