A Pair of Growlers

Had a pair of EA-18G Growlers drop into Republic Airport today. They've done this a couple of times in the past, usually to let the folks at the nearby Northrop Grumman plant check out the jets. It was rainy all day, but after dark, the rain let up, and the folks hanging around looking at the jets left, so got to play in the dark...

Real nice nighttime work, John. Interesting planes....well photographed.

I always wanted to lie naked on a bearskin rug in front of a fireplace. Cracker Barrel didn't take kindly to it.

    Thank you, Tom!

They blasted off this morning...was shooting into the morning sun when they were on the ramp, but it did offer some dramatic lighting.

Number Two kept the burners lit for a little bit longer on departure. Yeah, the airport is going to get noise complaints on this one...
