burning photos

hello:i have 76 pics in an album in elements 7.when i burned them to a cd and verified it i got an error message stating that i replace the disk drive(upgrade) before trying again.i burned the pictures again and did not verify.many pics were duplicated and 300 pics were burned to the disk,some of them were not in the catelog. any clues?thanks.
