Who Do You (or Would You) Follow on Twitter or Facebook or Whatever?

Just started dabbling in Twitter and have found a few photography blogs and/or photographers to follow - along with smug mug, of course. Any landscape photographers that you might recommend following on Twitter or Facebook or whatever? I am partly doing this as a fun way to learn more about using social media (in connection with a nonprofit).

Have you tried Google+? If you're looking for photographers to follow, that would be my first choice of places to play. You should be able to sign up at http://plus.google.com. If you run into problems let me know and I will send you an invitation.

Thanks, Denise. I did set up a Google+ page but haven't done much with it yet. I'll look into this further!

The key is to choose people to follow. There are some really good photographers over there, and there are a number of folks who post here in dgrin who also post in Google+. I found it slow to get started; it took a while to be noticed at all, and it also took me a while to find favorites to follow. One of the things I did was start wandering through the "following" lists of other people, particularly if it was a person whose photos I liked. I starting building up my own following lists that way. And I also starting posting there, trying for a photo a day, but it's been less lately.

public circles project
Just thought of something else. Jarek Klimek started something on google+ called the Public Circles Project. His intro to it is here. There are some links to groups of photographers from that page, and those of us who choose to participate have included links to some of our own favorites on our about pages in google+. I have a few folks linked on my about page, and if you look around you should find more.

If you want to "connect" to other photographers, Google+ is the place IMO. That said, I have an account for FB, G+ and Twitter (Don't really use Twitter). Links are in my sig if you're interested.
