As a lot of you know, I had my first trip to the studio.

I sure learned an awful lot that I plan to use on a daily basis. Everything from shadows, to lighting, to talking to the model, to everything.

I in no way consider myself an expert, or a professional, but man that was loads of fun and I can hardly wait to try it again.

I sure gave my 717 a work out and a half.

so now... on with the show.... (still processing, but this is what I have so far out of 400 shot)

Here is Angie:

    Hi Steven,
Nice captures. I especially like the comp on #2. My only negative comments are that #2 appears rather dark compared to #1 (#1 lightness is better on my monitor) and the makeup seems a little strong. She had beautiful eyes and you captured them well, but the starkness of the eye liner pulls me away from the eyes. The lip gloss is a bit too reflective but these are just my .02. I like the poses you selected and again, #2 takes the cake for me.

Good job and thanks for sharing,
    Chris

A picture is but words to the eyes.

Beautiful model and great shots. On #3, it seems that you picked up to much detail in the background, seems that maybe she was to close to it, or you needed less DOF.

    Chris,

Thank you for your kind words and your comments. That's the only way i'm going to get any better at this.

This was my first shoot in a studio and this models first time "Modeling"

I think it turned our pretty well. I still need to go through and process a lot of these shots. It was a lot of fun though.

Thanks again for speaking up and telling me what you think.

I was using full manual on my camera... i still need to learn to work in studio lights and such. Thanks for pointing that out though.

The pictures are very high contrast and you're losing some detail on the clothes, and her skin tone just seems too hot to me.. too saturated. Reduce the reds and yellows. :)

I can see what you're saying a bit in the others... Thank you for pointing that out as I'm still learning here.

This one looks pretty much as she does in Person....

    I like this one alot!
    (how could I not :-)

Just a few words on this one:

    41457583-S.jpg

( + ) Despite of (or due to?:-) being more scantily clad here than on the other pictures, she seems to be way more relaxed, and that helps a lot:-)
( + ) Light is very good, even
( - ) Frame chops out the very top of her head :-(

    Nik,

Thanks for pointing this stuff out. This pose looked very natural. I had to do a bit in PS to get the look I wanted, but I think it turned out awesome.

Lighting was my biggest challenge that day. First time in a studio, especially with my 717, and I just gave it a go :)

I'm bummed that I cut out the top part of her head, but I have a pose that looks very similar to this one, so maybe I can work some magic :)

    Thanks again,

    Steven
