Change the picture in the Contact Form

Maybe I'm missing this in the forum but I can't seem to find the customization to get rid of the (arguably) cool old guy on the Contact Form and replace him with something that looks a little closer to home...

Any help would be appreciated.

    Your bio photo is used in the contact form. Once you set a bio photo it will be used instead of the default image.

    What if I want a different photo for the "Contact" link than the one that is being utilized as my Bio photo? I can't seem to find how to do that :(

    Those are both tied to the same image. If you wanted to use a separate image you would set the bio photo to use the one you want showing in the contact form. Then for your bio box image you could add the image with html.

    Do you know how to make the image as big as the default image? The default takes up the whole left side, but when I change it to my own image it becomes a thumbnail size. Thanks in advance

    Anybody have an answer to this question? I'm sure there are others besides myself and shioti who would like to know how to fix this issue.

    The default image is very tall. If you upload a very tall skinny image as your bio photo, it should work.

    It seems that should do the trick but it doesn't. The photo that I uploaded was at least 1200px high by 300px wide (I'll double check when I get home) which you would think would be enough to fill that little box. I even tried a few different images/sizes but, unfortunately, I just get a thumbnail sized image regardless of what image I put in there.

    Ok. So I get home today and start to look into this again and now the "Contact" link is completely gone from my "menu bar" on my homepage. I go into the "customize site" mode, select "edit" on the menu bar, go to "links", and there's my "contact" link entry right were it should be. So, What the heck???

    So, I change the "link to" properties to a random gallery and BOINK, my "contact" link shows up in my homepage menu bar again. So, I switch the "link to" properties back to "contact form" and the darn "contact" link in my homepage menu bar disappears again.

    Tried changing "profile" image, no go. Tried the default "profile" image", still no go. If the "Contact" link in the menu bar is set to "contact form" under the "link to" properties it just disappears.

    I just made a new thread about this before I saw this post. I was messing around with my bio photo when I noticed that my contact link was messed up/missing. Coincidence?

    Probably not a coincidence, but, hey, I just checked my site and it looks like it's working again. Yea!

    Now, if they could just fix the "profile" image issue.

    I just right click/downloaded the SM default image (it's named "nobio") and it's 154px by 370px. I then made my own "custom" profile image at exactly 154px by 370px, uploaded it to my site, and changed my "profile" image to my new, "custom" image, and guess what?

    It still shows up as a thumbnail. Just taller and skinnier. Bummer. Hopefully they'll get that fixed soon also.

    Hmmmm, this is indeed interesting. To be honest, it probably isn't a bug per say, since it has always been like this and behaves as expected. The default image given in that box isn't an uploaded image, but rather embedded in the main form. I will look into seeing if there is a way for us to change the upload resizing behavior.

    If anybody is looking for a solution to this "profile/contact picture" sizing issue, a solution has been posted in the Bug Reports forum.

    Contact Form Picture
    I want to replace the default image of the guy on the contact form with an image of mine. I know how to do this but every time I change the image it ends up being a small box size...rather than the longer side image that the default is.

    What size does my image need to be in order to fill the entire side area just as the default image does?

    Debbie, as stated earlier in the thread, no matter what size photo you upload, Smugmug will crop it to a square thumbnail size. This is a known bug, on the active bug list:
