This is a nice shot. I like how you placed the horizon low in the frame to emphasize the rain and clouds. It's great as is, but I wonder if the photo would have a more dramatic impact if the clouds were darker, yet maintaining the graytone of the rain and the highlights in the clouds? How is the color version?
TreyHoff, I appreciate the comments. I tried it with more dramatic clouds but it began to look unreal to me. This version is closer to what I saw. I don't think images always have to be anchored to what we saw, but here I preferred it.
The color version looked like this, although I didn't work it up completely because I knew I didn't like it:
I shot with daylight white balance and the storm had a very blue light.
