Huge dry lightning storm came over last night ...at the height of the storm there was 1300 strikes in 16 mins.

This is it...seriously i wanted to get one of it hitting the crane (then PS my dust out). Talk about a wasted 3 hours !

More predicted for the next 3 nights.

Thats a good pic Gus. But with 1300 strikes in 16 minutes you should have been able to get a lightning shot by accident. :lol

Of course I havent' gotten a good lightning shot myself yet. :cry

    lightning is hard
Not to worry, Gus. And, as I remember, you now have a prime spot for lightning now. There will be more storms.

The two occasions I've tried this, the hit rate was one shot in 60 with something interesting. Not had a super shot yet out of about 200 frames.

Gus, you already got your awesome lightning shot. Only one per lifetime, my friend. Expecting more than that is like....getting struck twice by lightning. Back off and leave some of that stuff for the rest of us!

    Nup...one due tonight..wed night & thurs night.

One (storm that is) flew over me today at work & i was just doing my everyday thing...leaning on a shovel staring at the clouds with dribble coming from the corner of my mouth.

What i saw i couldnt believe...in full sun at midday against a tall thunder head i saw a strike go from the top to the bottom around the outside of the cloud. I have never seen that before.

I have always expected a UFO but this ??
