Nice, Jim, thanks for posting. Bet there's more than 4 of them, huh? Was it windy? I was reading that big windmills make a low thrumming sound as the blade passes the tower, and also that a surprising number of birds are killed by big windmills. Anything you can report firsthand?

    Hello,

Nice shot of the windmills. I've been around these on a windy day and they are impressive. I think it is Denmark that gets a large percentage of it's power from wind, but I might be remembering wrong.

Not trying to be too critical but artistically the picture doesn't do much for me.

Maybe if there was a foreground element that mirrored the # and shape of the windmills, or if it was taken at an angle so that the eye was led from the foreground to the background (right now just a line across the middle). Or something.

Maybe the shapes of the haybales and the way they are lined up could be integrated better?

Not sure. Anyway, that's my two cents.

    Hey Jim

Those huge windmills are really impressive in person aren't they. I don't think you really get the true magnitude of them in a picture. I saw a couple recently for the first time and I wasn't very pleased with my own shots of them. I have to agree a bit with Steve in this case. This just doesn't really do anything for me. Did you try any shots with a longer exposure to get some blur on the windmill blades to show their movement? Maybe even with an ND Filter to stop down the shutter speed?

    Hi Jim,
So, how long does it take for them to grow that big:D.

I've seen the farms out by Indio and they are very impressive. It would be cool to see a slow exposure to get some motion blur in the blades. Then again, PS can do wonders.

    Thanks for posting,
    Chris
