PS Elements and color space conversion

Not (directly) supported in version 3 :bash but apparently available in version 4.

I thought some aRGB pics I uploaded looked washed out. After some searching I found the following links which describe a mechansism to get PSE3 to do the conversion. I figured I'd share in case anyone else was having the same problem.

The process is a bit of a PITA though, so I'm either going to drop aRGB or get a better tool.

Here's a comparison. The first pic is aRGB, the second converted to sRGB.

Not a huge difference, but the converted pic is definately closer to reality.

    set your 7d to srgb in-camera. shoot raw + jpg, then you're already there on your jpgs. in raw, you can develop the raws into adobe rgb, or srgb, whenever you want....

    Thanks for that advice Andy. I knew that white balance could be set on raw import, but wasn't aware that color space was like that too.

    Got some 'sperimentin to do...

    yep, raw is just that... the raw data. your raw converter will tell the data how to behave, which box of crayons to use.
