Hello everyone - just found this board and think it's great. I am looking for a new source for note cards (to which we'll either affix or insert photographs). Any suggestions? I did a search but couldn't find anything that dealt specifically with note or greeting cards. Thanks!

i have a very good friend who makes beautiful custom made note cards, inside or on which you could place a 4x5, 4x6 or 5x7 print. they're quite lovely, and she's a doll to work with. send me an email if you are interested in the contact info.

I have just had a set of Christmas cards made by Shutterfly. They are beautiful, but in terms of being able to resell they are expensive. My cost w/ shipping and tax was about $2.50 a card cdn.

Vistaprints does this as well. Cannot remember pricing exactly or why I chose shutterfly.

I have also picked up cards to insert photos into off of clearance racks for as little as $1.50 for a package.

I've said before that it would be great to have cards available from smugmug...

Thanks for all the replies. I, too, have ordered from Shutterfly but the pricing is a problem. I had some commercially-printed but they look just a bit too "slick," so I am looking for some that I could attach or insert a regular print into.

Some time ago, I found a set of nice card stock that had an embossed
spot for a print. The stock had to be about 70lb paper. These were in a
    regular stationary store.

You might also try Red River Paper. www.redriverpaper.com. I ordered a small
sample card kit that came with several different card stocks from 50 to
75lb. Some glossy, some matte and some water color (read textured paper).
There are also some translucent papers as well. Each comes with an envelope
too. The difference with these papers is that you're meant to print directly
    on the card stock.

    Good luck!
