I used paint to make my watermark because I couldn't figure out how to format text any other way. Then I saved it as a jpg and uploaded to smugmug and clicked make watermark.
I have seen some really talented watermarks and would love to figure out how to do one of those but for now I will just make a normal watermark.

I made the text using Paint, then saved it as a jpg, uploaded to smugmug and clicked on make this a watermark. Paint was the only place I could figure out how to format the text. http://connermajik.smugmug.com/Photography/ConnerMajik/19286975_j8JxCt#1505999999_VZjT9KL

Hello, do you have Photoshop? MS Paint isn't really a real editing program :) The trick is to make a transparent png, and only select the words, not the entire background, too...

I have Photo Shop Elements. I tried to do it in Elements and had difficulty so I tried Paint.

I created a new watermark using Photoshop and it looks ok, not fantastic but ok. Now the problem I am having is it will let me apply the watermark to only some photos. For example my photos in my Greece and Italy collections only have photomarks on some photos. The Greece collection will only even let me pick 2 photos to watermark. What am i doing wrong?

Are the photos large enough? You can only watermark photos with 801 pixel or more on the longest side. You can't watermark photos any smaller.

challenged: I can empathize with you, having just re-applied a new watermark to all my photographs. I found the SmugMug watermark tool buggy, and so I decided to apply my watermarks before I uploaded my images to SmugMug (I disabled the automated watermark option within SmugMug).

Are you still having the fuzzy image problem you mentioned originally? The clarity of the two images in your Greece collection looked fine to me on my PC.

How so? Specifics will help us to help you.

Putting watermarks on your photos and then uploading is a bad idea, those watermarks will appear on prints ordered.

Andy, the watermarked proofs won't be printed on orders if you use the proof delay and replace the image before it's printed. This is the method I prefer.

I never reported my original issue because I don't have time to troubleshoot these types of issues.

Thank you! That is the answer. For some reason I copied some over different sizes.
    Thanks everyone so much!!

Can you tell me how to make my watermark thicker print, so that it appears like the smugmug watermark does?

    I'm glad to hear that!

If you can include a link to your current watermark image, we could take a closer look. If you don't want to post that publicly, contact us at the helpdesk with details.
