.... and the photographer's family has Christmas photos! :lust
I finally did it: I hired someone else to take photos of me and mine. Enough with this remote shutter release thing. That is miserable.
As you can see, I couldn't handle the matching sweater look we photographers always get to work with during Christmas family portrait season, so I did something a bit different. I started looking for costumes a couple months ago... and we finally got things together and did the shoot the day after Thanksgiving.
It must be said that while there were a few things I would have done different during the shoot, I was pretty happy a coouple photos in the set. And before anyone whines about me sharing someone else's photos on here... she gave me permission and the RAWs, haha.

2. The building happens to be where me and my huz were married going on 15 years ago... (My kids are doing the "eeew gross" pose)

Caroling... it takes skill in a snowstorm:
4. Glad she got one of him with a normal expression. (Which is hard to accomplish at this stage of his life.)

We went and had some coffee and cocoa... Samantha (my friend) shot this from outside while we rigged up a flash inside behind the lantern. This is my favorite. I lovie it. Essence of us, right there.

9. Spot the snowball!
10. I love this one too. :lust
This one took a LOT of processing to bring it back from the dead. But I mostly like how it turned out. Not sure how big I can print it, but the meat of the photo is good.

Anyway... consider this your Christmas card from the Dunns in Alaska! Happy Christmas Everyone!

Awesome work. However, I find it confusing that there aren't any headshots of yourself and your husband

Don't worry. I can fix you in photoshop.
@Foques: I know I know! I wish there were better closeup photos of my husband and I ... I specifically asked her for some closeups, but when I got the raws, every single photo had to be cropped rather severely to get it where it is. And the specific photo that was supposed to be closeup, ended up being pretty much not a closeup. I imagine I made her a little nervous. But, I don't imagine many could have done better than than she did. I have about 10 solid photos from the set, so I am pretty happy. That is 10 more than I got last year!
I think I am going to make some of the prints into puzzles for grandparent's christmas gifts... I bet they'll love them! Or maybe ornaments. I guess I have to make up my mind and get them ordered if they are going to make it up to Alaska by Christmas time, haha!
