Zanardi Karting Shots

A friend of mine is going after the karting rush and picked up a sweet Zarnardi kart recently. Last weekend he asked me to come out and get some shots of him at the track. I was happy with how these came out. Especially the first one with the little star bursts of light on his kart and helmet.

That's a nice shot. I personally find the reflection of the pilots view more interesting than the little starburst. Gives the viewer a 'first-hand' perspective.

Are you now going to use this contact and try and shoot karting events? Seems like a ripe opportunity.

I too like the reflection in #1. Just curious, How much does a cart like that cost?

Thanks everyone. It was fun. You can see a ton of the first round shots of just the rentals from a month or so ago and then the second half of this gallery was from the latest shoot with the faster privately owned karts.

The first round I was just shooting handheld and the second round I used a monopod and paid much more attention to what i was doing. The difference is obvious, rolleyes1.gif

I was just doing it for fun. I guess I would be willing to shoot an event but haven't looked into it yet.

The kart my friend bought was $6K. :jawdrop The NASCAR drivers like to drive them in the off season to keep their skills sharp. He was able to find a used one that was sold after only one season. Not a cheap sport if you decide to get serious.
