A shot taken in an old house with Virginia. No afterwork and straight out the camera.

Your exposure is always spot on with your shots. Are you by any chance using a light meter most of the time? Thanks.

TXS, indeed I always measure the light with a seconic light meter. The camera is set to manual, so I can control all of it. The Seconic 758 light meter is loaded with a profile that reflects the dynamic range of my camera. This way I can tell if the exposure is within my dynamic range. Very handy.

That is the work of a professional photographer and what all IWAC 's should work to learn before they start out.

Thanks for your apt reply. When I saw your work with you using a Nikon D80, I knew by intuition that you are definitely using a light meter and I was luckily right. Thanks! I've learned a lot from this. bowdown.gif

The lighting in this is great. Is this with a flash or just natural light?

TXS, this is taken with a softbox and a diffuser screen in front. The power was set so that I have still influence from the natural light, The flash was merely to fill-out the more shaded spots on the face.

You can see some effect of the flash in the shadow of the front pillar of the staircase.

Lighting is just SUPERB. Really beautiful.

I might move her legs to the side a bit to lengthen her but, really, that's a way personal preference. If I could do this lighting, I wouldn't care what else happened.clap.gif
