Sunrise at the Merced NWR

Hikin' Mike

Took a short trip to the local wildlife refuge Saturday morning to mainly see how the conditions were (water levels, bird/shorebird activity etc). Since I am mainly a landscape photographer, I had to stop and photograph the sunrise before I drove the loop in search of birds. :wink

really like the third one... just enough sun peeking above the horizon to give things a bit of gold, but still has that lovely "orange ball" effect... very nice!

Wow, great shots, Mike. I thought you weren't a morning person. I was thinking I need to get out there for sunset, now I see that I need to get there for sunrise too. Yikes. :wow

I'm not usually up that early. Early to me is 9am.

I got a few pictures and posted them on my blog.
