    my fav is the rotting apples but given better light & a greater depth of field the oak gall would be better.

    Yes, it was too bad the gall was in the shade with a slight breeze and handheld with 100mm macro and I was running to keep up with my group touring a preserve 150 miles away. I guess I put it up here because the memory of running across it was a bit more special than the apples I was shoveling up in my back yard.

    I might have another chance at those mazanitas and madrones, though.

    I like the apples as well.

    I never saw one of those oak gall things before. Pretty cool.
