Baby's First Christmas

Took a few holiday photos this weekend in a very small room with my only flash and softbox. It quickly became a difficult shoot. Had to keep most of the shots pretty tight. Time to invest in some more lighting! Anyways I'm just looking for some feedback on one of the few images I took.

    It's a solid photo, nice focus, the colors / skin tones are right and I like the skin processing (if you did anything). I think it's pretty .... the background is a bit distracting (and you wanna watch the frame in the back / left > the perspective works a bit against you / looks cricket). Guess that's what you had to work with ... next time I would consider maybe taking the pictures in the background down and just have the tree and a blank wall ... Just my 2 cents :D

    Another option would have been to have them sit on the floor in front of the Christmas tree. The tree, slightly out of focus, would have made a nice seasonal background that is less distracting.
