Portrait of Kelly. This photo was taken in the Leicester People's Gallery during studio light workshop. Kelly was born to pose in front of the camera. Love working with her.

C&C are very welcome.

The color of her dress really pampers her skin tone. Your skin processing is really very balanced here, Tom. I love everything about it. Excellent work, Man. thumb.gifthumbthumb.gif

Beautifully lit and processed. I think I would have liked it a bit better though if it didn't look like she was slam-up against the BG.

Setup. Two Bowes Gemini heads 500. One on top on a boom and one one on the bottom on a small tripod. The one on top is a beauty dish with a defuser, but the bottom one is a soft box. The soft box is there just to lighten up her shadows under the chin.

    Thank you for the cc

You can actually see the setup in her eyes, quite nicely. Pretty girl.

Very nice, good model, sharpness, light etc.... Well done.
Such a nice picture could maybe use an extra effort. A beauty dish creates a nice light effect on the eyes. The reflection in the iris is then round. A softbox reflects a square or rectangle form, not so nice to look at. I would remove the bottom softbox reflection in the eyes. But that is just a minor comment on this great shot

Thank you for the comment. I love this type of a catch light in the eyes - for me they are bringing more life and energy in to the portrait. But that is my own opinion.

    thank you again for commenting.

I love it too, but personally I prefer only one catch light. But that is personal taste.

Yep, the clamshell always works well as for a beauty shot. It helps when you have a beauty to work with too! Nice shot.

I like this one better. No shadow behind her neck on the BG. Very nice.

Yes, you are right. The photo was taken during a photography club studio light workshop. They promised to provide background - they did not, I had to use a glossy wall. Still the effect was not bad.

    Thank you for the comment.

I actually like the first one better. The expression seems more natural and relaxed, and I dig the shadow behind her. Both lovely, though.
