Image pricing question

Hi All,
This may be a slightly dumb question, but I disabled the prices and printing on my images on smugmug in the first couple weeks of my opening y account because i found the pricing system very confusing.

We now I have published a few times and I am wondering if there is a way to do sweeping, across the board, pricing? The time I tried it, I got a call from a friend saying i was charging to little.

You can set pricing at the portfolio level. That pricing can be overridden at the gallery and photo level as needed. You can also apply bulk pricing changes.

Problem with pricing
I set the Portfolio prices. I made one gallery available for printing. However, when I check the prices in owner's and visitors' views, the prices did not change from the smugmug dfault. I am stuck. The "help" screen does not help me. Am I missing something?
