The girlfriend wanted to send out cards this year so we attempted to do a quick photo shoot over her lunch break today. Having to battle traffic, people, and the wind I think it went fairly well but not as well as I would have liked. Nice enough to be sent out to family?

IMO, unless that tree in the BG has very special significance to you two, the shot fails as a holiday card. Not nearly enough "you" in the image. Why don't you cut the banner in two and have the Merry above the Christmas, so your arms don't have to be so wide spread. Then you can zoom in tighter and still maintain the 2:3 vertical aspect ratio that you were apparently going for.

Thanks for the idea of stacking the Marry over the Christmas. I think that would help out tremendously and no there is no real significance to the back ground. Just seemed like a nice little spot. After she gets off of work, I think Im going to take her back there and see if we can get some other shots when the Christmas lights on the buildings are lit up and everything. Also less traffic and there wont be cars parked all over the place. Maybe thatll help with the Christmas feel

Thank you guys! Glad this one came out better. Surprisingly there was still a lot of traffic at 10 pm and a ton of people walking around even though its a small town. Had quite a few people watching us too and one lady kept saying "thats sooooo cute!" hahaha

The re-do is awesome, although there is a slight green cast on my iMac. The people are slightly oof, but that sort of works too.

I can try and brighten it up some.

its possible there is and Im not seeing it. The street lamps (except one) were fluorescent and the Christmas lights were incandescent, so the white balance could be slightly off since we had street lamp light on us. ne_nau.gif
