These are appealing, but all look just slightly underexposed to me. Maybe it's my monitor setting.

One other thing: Your eyes are beautiful, but In #2, 3 & 4, your DOF wasn't enough to keep the tips of the noses in focus. You might think of closing down to f/5.6 instead of f/4 if you're going to be shooting so close. IMO it's fine to have the ears go soft, but the nose should still be in focus. Please let us see more of this series as you shoot more of your 100.

Great series, The exposure looks good on my Macbook. The only thing I would add is a bit more contrast and structure.
What concerns the DOF, I think this is just fine as long as the eyes are sharp. As is the case here, but that is a personal taste.
The series reminds me of Van Vleteren (Belgian Magnum Photographer) who had recently an exposition, with the exception that the pictures were totally sharp (high DOF).

I know 4 out of 100 is hardly a representative sample, but these make me think you're OK with men looking grumpy but women have to be smiling and looking pretty. I love how natural 1 and 3 look, and I think I would like it if 2 and 4 were also so natural.

    Thanks for your comments.

@ Icebear: I mostly shoot these pictures between f3.5 and f4. I guess I could be less rigid... I'll give it a try.
@ 3DShooter: I know how to ad contrast, but how do I ad structure whithout the heavy postprocessing Lee Jeffries does?
@ BretDeutch: you've got a point there. Older woman don't want their picture taken by me. I regret that, but I can't help it yet... The younger girls are smiling al the time: I don't regret that either. mwink.gif

Nice idea and very nice B and W processing. Might have a bit more contrast but they look fine exposure wise. The idea of 100 strangers would make a nice series..... if it continues with the great shots like you have now.
