Hello,

About to enjoy some of Prague's finest absinthe... luckily I still had my camera, memory card, and sanity after this night.

I went back & forth a bit on how much background detail to show vs. letting it black out to put more focus on the waitress & flaming drink. What do you think?

I like this picture, especially that it includes some background.

I'm realllyyy curious what this looked like in color. Doesn't absinthe put off a blueish flame? As far as the type of drink, you're a brave soul lol. I'm glad you got the shot, before doing the shot lol.

Here is the original... VERY dim lights cast a massive orange red hue. You can barely see the blue flames in the two cups on the table, but when it was first stirred in it was hot white.

Any comments on how to improve the final image would be greatly appreciated.

Did you see the Green Fairy?

I like the b&w treatment better.

Lol Ian. The stories I have heard lol. I tinkered with the color one, turned the exposure up, alot, then the saturation down some, and changed the crop somewhat. I think a little more up on exposure yet and maybe a slight change in saturation after that? This was in Gimp, I'm not on the other the other machine, but thought this might help you on direction? http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/768/absinthb.jpg

Thanks for the retouch... not sure why but the second pic I uploaded is terribly muddy. Anyway, I dont think I'd use your crop as I'm also trying to protect my dear friend's innocence and cloned him out.

Oh oops sorry lol. I think the photo has alot of potential and I like the way fire looks on an image lol. Gimp is pretty limited, compared to PS or LR with newer algorithms nowadays, and maybe you can use one of them to bring it up some. I'll go ahead and delete, to preserve you're friend's privacy lol.
