From the subject's view

This is not what I would normally post in the "Street & PJ" forum,
but it follows "Keithinmelbourne"'s recent posting titled "The
Friendly Streets of Melbourne". There was an event here today
billed as a "Rockabilly Zombie Weekend" with a bunch of people
dressed and made up to look like zombies. I don't get it, but
they looked like they were having a good time.

I chose to shoot the shooters instead of the shooter's subjects.
There's a zombie crouched in front of the car, but she didn't
interest me as a subject.

How about that Mamiya Rolleiflex on the tripod!

I'll continue my regular programming in the next post.

Great shot Tony. The fact you can't see what they're shooting makes it all the more intriguing.

I agree, it looks like some strange crime scene.

The great thing about this shot is that when someone asks what they were all shooting, you can honestly say "a zombie." rolleyes1.gif

Definitely a fun one, Tony. But I would definitely convert to black and white and up the contrast.

BD's right. I tried it. It also can stand a bit of sharpening. The result's a real improvement. I'll post it if Tony's good with that.

Here's the black and white version. I had tried that last night,
but with everyone dressed in a shade of blue or black I felt it
lost something. The black and white makes all blues gray cats.

But, I'm always willing to take a suggestion.

    How's my contrast?

Always OK with me. You get a lifetime pass. Sharpening, at least
my efforts, bring out those sun reflections on the people's shoulders.
It was overcast yesterday, and well past noon, but I got those halos
on the shoulders. Note the absence of shadows on the ground you
    get on an overcast day.

No, your B&W conversion is fine. I do like it better in B&W.

Definitely works for me - the color was sort of blah, so the bw is much punchier, and really improves the scene.
