I had a fun family session yesterday for a holiday gift for dad. The daughters wanted a photo of them with their family dog. Dad is a vet and will hang this in his waiting room.

One of the daughters wanted a few modeling type shots.

Took a few more of the girls together.

Convinced Mom to get in for one shot at the end. My favorite of the session.

    Mitch,
Seems that you have been busy, I know the feeling (have 3 daughters myself). I prefer the last shot.
Here is why (and that is just my personal view and taste for what it is worth).

#1 It looks that there is a sharpness problem . The focus does not seem to lay on the faces ? Or is it a glow you have applied ?
#2 Nice catchlights in the eyes..
#3-4 Sharpness on the face as in #1 is bit soft. The light is bit hot
#5 Nice family shot, but I am not to keen on bricks or walls, as they tend to be very busy..
#6 Nice shot and the second best in the series
#7 My choice, I also like DOF and background.

I'm noticing a big variation in skin tone between the different shots. Was that intended? In #5 they look ultra-light. In #6 they look tan.
Please feel free to post any reworks you do of my images. Crop, skew, munge, edit, share.

#5 is a Kevin Kubota action. Mom loved this one and ordered a large canvas. Not my favorite, but she showed me something similar before we shot and I tried to replicate it with this processing.

#6 is a pretty accurate representation of their skin tones.

I guess there's not accounting for the client's taste. ne_nau.gif

    Mitchell'

I think youve done a great job with these. In particular, the "modelling" poses look very relaxed and "easy". Nice job of not going over the top AND keeping it age appropriate. thumb.gif

I think a BW conversion of that last shot would REALLY make it look more formal.

Thanks for sharing. Makes me want to take a break from my woodworking and go shoot!:D

    Thanks, Jeff.

I didn't do a B&W of that last one, but I did one of the two daughters in that location which I liked.
