Big Angle

Hello,

Since the subject is a person so think this belongs here instead of the fantastic landscape of River Spey Scotland. The deep blue sky & saturated greens took were a bit overpowering, so I thought B&W would show the detail/drama of Johnny and his perfect cast technique.

What do you think?

    I think that this is a ASP ! I love it .
    PS ASP=Absolute Stunning Picture.
Have you taught about removing the branches of the tree to emphasize the line and bait ?

I really like this shot. The B&W conversion is nice. I like the action... makes the shot dynamic. My nit is also the branches above the angler. Should be pretty simple to remove them. One more thing... the highlights in the water around his legs. My eye gets directed there. No biggie but thought I'd mention it.

    Neat Image
I had always wondered why they called those big two handed fly rods, "spey rods". Now I know the derive the name from the Spey River. They are used in the USA primarily in our Pacific Northwest for salmon and steelhead trout.

I had the opportunity to use a rod like this once and it is quite a workout to cast for a day!

    Thanks everyone!

I thought about removing the branches... but could be difficult to hand draw the fishing line back in. I'll give it a whirl over the next few days.

Good point on the glare on the water too!

This is really a great shot, Player. I agree with the others on both points. The highlights near the bottom are easy to remove, but I agree with you on the branches...very difficult to remove, but you probably know more about this sort of thing than I do haha.

I like the bright highlights in the water. Maybe you could brighten Johnny a bit to make him stand out and match the highlights? Great shot either way.

I should probably leave the branch in... simply for the fact that I would launch my lure into every other cast. I decorated those trees more than my own Christmas tree!
