A few storms have come thru the valley of the sun.
Thought the black and white was most appropriate.
Tried to bring a bit of detail out of the mountainsides but fear it might be too sharp?
to pano or no? CC appreciated.

I love the lighting on this shot, Eia. The silhouetted foreground against the sunny mountains is unique and beautiful. I like the pano version better; it seems to have more depth.

Great image, Eia. Looks like a scene out of an old western movie. Both versions look really good. Although, I see what Art Morgan says about the pano version having more depth.

thanks All - I too prefer the pano vision. Hope we get more clouds this winter for these opportunities!

For me, no doubt the pano has more punch. The blocked out foreground section is a bit distracting to me...personal preference, I am sure other viewers will like that silhouette effect.
Like the black and white.

Thanks for the comment. Yes, i can see where the forground is to black. I will see if i can bring up the detail a bit more.

Wonderful shot, Eia! I agree about the choices for pano and B&W--#1 really grabs me.

I prefer the version with the top 25% cropped off!

I like the pano version better… keeps you focused on the mountains.

Why shoot at f/22? Note that everything is far away, and the foreground is in shadow. f/11 may be better as you get less lens diffraction :-)
