How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I especially like #2. How did you get that, did you keep focusing on the bird while it was approaching the water?

Wow! Here's what I like: #1 for the soft light that brings out the colors on the Sandhill Crane; #2 for the perfect timing; #3 for such a sharp view of that huge fish--it looks so heavy the GBH had to pull its neck back to hold it up!; and #4 for the great light on the osprey's face and eye, and the detail of that photo! Merry Christmas, Harry! Best, Pam

Awesome shots, Harry. The GBH with the big fish is especially compelling.

Thanks, I got a quite a few captures in this sequence. I was fortunate enought to follow 4 dive sequences that day this one was the closest. The ospreys were very active and the law of averages played out. I took enough shots during the 4 sequences so that a few had to come out OK. :D I just locked on as they started their dive and did my best to keep up with them. I had my best luck when I tried to predict their landing spot and then to try to get a lock when they hit the water.
