Setting Largest Size Options on a per image basis

I regularly post to an online forum which allows the maximum image size to be 800 pixels on the longest dimension. I can easily link to images on my smugmug gallery using the Large size as horizontal images are 800px across. However for vertical images, size large (600px) is 200 pixels short of what I could post. The x-large size is close to what I want (768 px tall) for verticals.
Is it possible to set vertical images to show as x-large and horizontal images to show as large? Or is it possible to set the largest size option on an image-by-image basis? I could just do it manually for every vertical image I want to post in the forum. Or is there a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to do?
I've thought about making x-large the standard in all my galleries but then I start worrying about image theft when there are 1024px wide horizontal images being shown.
Thanks for tips!

But as John said, you can't adjust the fixed display sizes.
Instead of using display sizes, you could take a look at the custom size feature:

You might be able to set a custom size of 800x800 to achieve your desired size regardless of orientation. And no worries as we maintain the aspect ratio and won't stretch your photos out of proportion.
