Here is my first real attempt at team and individual. I'm still learning and didn't charge any of the parents for the pics. Comments welcome.

1) Team

2) Individual (my son) and I think I like this one best, off center and looking away from the camera

3) And something different with the goalie...

Thanks for looking!

on the team shot - lower the framing next time - more ice/less stands. Generally look to center the group a little more. Also, as you can see they're a bit crunched at the side - so with a bleed and a frame you'd be cutting out body parts.

I really appreciate the reply. Truth be told, I wasn't sure what the definition of "bleed" was in this context. So I did a search and some reading. I know and understand much more now. When I took the shot(s) I left a lttle room but that was taken up when I did a crop - adjusted center and slight tilt. This doesn't leave room for the printers, etc. Also, I went back to my RAW files and every single shot has more stands and less ice... that's too bad because in hindsight I would have loved to get the team logo at center ice. I could have used a gradient filter in PP to bring out the details in the ice. I just didn't "think" at the time to make it part of the subject. There is no subsitute for experience.

I do think this will help improve my future attempts. Thanks again!
