I've been away from Dgrin for awhile so I thought I would post up a few recent images I'm fond of.

Any comments or suggestions would be much appreciated.

Thanks for checking out my gallery. A friend and I stumbled upon those burros while doing some back country exploring in my Jeep. We were about 20 miles as the crow flies north of Oatman, along a remote area near the Colorado River. You can see the approximate area if you drop these coordinates into Google maps. 35.297194,-114.584026

Curiously these burros were almost as tame as the ones in Oatman, even though there was no civilization around. Other times you'll come across packs of burros that will scatter at the site of you. You just never know with burros. I love 'em. iloveyou.gif

Each of these shots has such great lighting. I like them all.

As for the burros, you can find them in many areas in AZ/CA. Here is one who greeted us around an area called Lake Pleasant: http://sexy6chick.smugmug.com/AZ/WCM-Pre-Run/P9058459/641038797_LuAza-L.jpg

I like them all and as others have said, the lighting is spectacular. My personal favourite is 3 with the person walking to give scale to the stone wall.

i like all of these, but especially #2... just wish that cactus wasn't right smack in the middle...

I know what you mean Rocky. The cactus shot was actually a bit of a last minute experiment. It was nearly dark, no tripod, thought I would try some foreground flash to light the cactus. I'd never tried flash this way so I wasn't expecting much. Now I wish I would have spent a little more time on composition. Maybe I could crop.

Which way to crop. Warm dark side, or bright side?

Of the 2 crops the first is better, but I didn't mind the cactus in the center either.

my vote is for the warmer, darker side... the colors are richer and better match the light in the foreground.
