I am thinking of buying one in the near future. Since the other underwater cases are out of my reach right now I was wondering if anyone has used dicapac? It would be used more for underwater pool shots.

I bought my son a DiCAPac to use with a FujiFilm P&S that I bought for him to take to Iraq (Marines). I think he has since lost it but I did test it beforehand with him.

It helps to glue a "bead" or small button or somesuch to some camera's shutter button's surface that may not have a pronounced shutter button. Otherwise you don't get a very good "feel" for the shutter button when the camera is used underwater.

The optic "port" on the DiCAPac can cause a fair amount of extra glare and flare in images above water. If you plan on using the DiCAPac to protect the camera out-of-the-water be prepared to shield the port from direct sun.

Also plan on cleaning the optic port a lot. Dust and water spotting can degrade the images considerably.

There are many different styles of the DiCAPac. The recommended DiCAPac version might not be the best for your camera. Do some research beforehand to double-check what people are using for the particular camera you wish to protect.
