When you come to a door... walk through it.
If it's locked... find an open window.

We were supposed to leave to Mexico for the holidays, so I didn't do to much decorating this year... the departure has been delayed to an unknown date and I'm actually glad it has " alt="December 29, 09 Winter is beautiful We were supposed to leave to Mexico for the holidays, so I didn't do to much decorating this year... the departure has been delayed to an unknown date and I'm actually glad it has " />

Light is everything in life and photography.
2. A portion of the painting in the top of the Capitol Dome. I shot this with a Canon Powershot SX-30 zoomed all the way to 800mm.
2b & c. These two are to show perspective of how much zoom...the first is a view of the Capitol Rotunda--just to show how big it is. The second is as much of the dome as I could get into the frame of my camera.
3. Outside of one of the buildings on the campus where I work.

Paul,
Very cool b&w conversion! This is one of my favorite places to shoot architecture. So much to see... I tend to spend more time outside than inside when I visit...

Thanks Bill!
Getty, Disney, and Annenberg are my trifecta when I need to be inspired.
Getty is equally as dynamic inside:

Can anyone enter this Mini challenge, and do the photos have to be taken in this time period?

Anyone can play Jenn, as long as they are a member of DGrin.
Photos do not have to be fresh. Previous images on your hard drive are fine.
Have a happy new year!
Thanks for the quick answer, Froch!

The Getty didn't disappoint!! Wish I had gotten there earlier tho. They had a photography exhibit going on... how appropriate!

Great! NOW, your next stop should be the Annenberg. The Digital Darkroom is the exhibit. I'm hoping to get there this weekend.
No cameras in the Century Tower (bummer because that lobby is GORGEOUS!) or in 'The Space', but outside is allowed.
The bench area at the entrance is a favorite of mine.
I will put that on the list. Cool.... the Digital Darkroom is on exhibit till May.

"At least one of the three images that you submit should be from your home or workplace."
That requirement seems to be missing in many of the groups of three unless the
submitters live or work in some very odd places.
There are times when I feel I live in an ancient ruin, but not one quite as grand
as those pictured here.

Tony is right...I did ask for at least one image to be from your home or workplace. The point was for you to see architectural elements in a variety of ways. We don't often think of our homes as places of architecture. Although we all share the bond of photography, we all come from such different backgrounds and locales. I thought it would be fun to share something about where we dwell!
Just a reminder, this mini closes on Thursday at 11:00 PM Eastern Standard Time..... 8 PM for those of you on the west coast.
I will try to post results within 24 hours.
Keep them coming!
