Tags - related keywords/"combine with" Query

Hi friends - is there some resource where I can get how the tag/keyword pages find "Related keywords" and "Combine with".

I've been researching but haven't found a proper explanation (sure, maybe I missed it), given the other keyword/tag issues that seem to be happening.

Could SM please provide the mapping/logic behind this functions, AND, as has been asked before, the real mapping of camera tags (EXIF/ITPC) to the SM keywords. Surely THAT isn't proprietary to SM!!

    Hi Pete,
    I'm not aware on any specific documentation on the feature. In essence it's quite simple. It's looking at what other keywords are assigned to photos for the keyword gallery you're currently looking at. Clicking on a related keyword would bring you to the keyword gallery for that keyword. Combine with displays a keyword gallery for both keywords (the current one and the one you selected to combine) and thus narrowing down the results to just photos that have both keywords.

    We only use SmugMug keywords for the feature. Of course, if your files had keywords in the IPTC or XMP keyword metadata, those would be imported automatically into SmugMug keywords upon uploading.

    Sebastian - yes I've been after the mapping from EXIF/IPTC -> SM for a while now.

    So, when you say "...keyword gallery..." umm...got lost there!!! How would one define keyword gallery? Sorry to be a dumb a***!

    OK, so when Seb's talking about keyword galleries, it's the results "page" from clicking a keyword, yes?

    Yes. We call it keyword gallery as from a browsing standpoint it behaves and looks like a regular gallery and also comes with a number of tools that are available for galleries, too.
