Just got my first ever telephoto lens!! a tamron 28-300 man ive been wanting a telephoto forever it seems like.. i got it second hand from cash converters kind of a spur of the moment thing i talked the clerk down to $200 (about $150 U.S)
and not a scratch on it, even smells brand new!!:lust and having alot of fun with it so far, its a little slow at 300mm and a little soft at the wide end but seems anything in between is really good.

Anyway was wondering if anyone else has this lens and what they think of it?
thanks
sser

I had the Tamron 28-300 for over a year and was quite happy with it. It provides you great value for the buck. It does fine in bright light amd gives you a lot of flexibility. It is soft at 28mm and over 200mm. Its not a fast lens but for what you paid its one of the best bargains out there.

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

I just sold mine with my old digital rebel to fund a sigma 100-300 f4. Was a good lens for when I knew nothing about what focal length I wanted or needed....I was able to find out what all of them looked like. :D
