Verifying Ownership for Google Webmaster Central

I am trying to create a Google Webmaster Central account, and would like to know what is the best way to verify my site. It has several verfications options and I can't seem to make any of them work. Probably the easist would be to paste Google's verification Meta tag in my footer, but I don't seem to be doing that right? Anyone have suggestions? Thanks in advance!

If you have more then one site in your GA account, be sure you're dropping in the corect 'Google Analytics > Web Property ID' in your control panel. I'm not sure how long it takes for Google to verify. I think it took a few days on my site. Maybe others can provide some tips they've used.

Pat,
Just copy the meta tag into the head tag box. That's where it belongs. Give it a couple of days to take effect.
