I was out and got my first shot of 2012. Unfortunately I didn't see as many owls as I had hoped (only 3 snowys and a great horned). It seemed like every owl I saw was close to a house with barking dogs, which meant the owls didn't stick around very long. Still happy to seem them.

Three snowy's and a great horned on one outing is pretty good for this year. A couple of years ago we were inundated with them but the lemming pop is up so not so many lately. Good for them ,not so good for us. Very nice shots by the way, I love the light you captured.

How wonderful to have so many opportunities to capture owls! I hear them (not the snowy ones--we are in Louisiana!) at night, but rarely actually see them. Nice shots! Best, Pam

How many photographers does it take to change a light bulb? 50. One to change the bulb, and forty-nine to say, "I could have done that better!"

They are amazing to see in person, and I feel fortunate to live so close and see so many.
