Embed Caption Text Elsewhere?

I am trying to streamline my work process a little more, laziness is the actual mother of invention. Is there a way to make it so that that caption text is embeddable elsewhere?

Here is what I am trying to accomplish as there might be another way to do it.
  • Shoot an image
  • Process it in Lightroom
  • Place in a title and caption
  • Upload it to SmugMug using the Lightroom Publish tool
  • I then also want the image on my blog with the title and caption
  • If I make a change to the caption or title in LR I want it to update everywhere.

I know how to embed the image, but can't seem to see a way to embed the other information. Is it possible?

The IPTC Description will be the caption on SmugMug.

Thanks for the fast response. I don't think I explained my question well. If I want to embed a picture in my blog, is there a way to embed the caption text also? The goal I am looking for is putting in the IPTC info once and have it display both within my SmugMug gallery and in my blog.

I thought about using the Journal style, but could not figure how to embed it. If it is not possible, I can make some changes to do it all on SmugMug but like some of the HTML options available on my blog versus what I can do on SmugMug.

I will try to do a mockup later.... After hockey!

Andy, thanks for the fast confirmation to what I was thinking. I could hope though. Happy New Year.

There is probably a way to do this using the API and some custom programming. If you're using wordpress, look into some of the SM-plugins available for it as somebody may have already implemented what you're looking for. thumb.gif
