I shot this on Christmas Day, when I enjoyed a white Christmas for the first time in many years! This is the door to my brother's barn in Maine. Thanks to my sister-in-law for having the wreath in a perfect place for the shot!

For my "followers," you have already seen this one. Thanks for looking again. :D

I like it - love the contrast.

I love the blue door and the wreath. I think the area to the right of the door, however, is a distraction. I first cropped out everything to the right of the blue. That gave it an almost square format. I then cropped up from the bottom to restore the original ratio of presentation. As a consequence, the wreath was projected to be larger....made it really stand out. Try it and see if you don't like it better that way.

Might go into the 20's here tonight. BRRRRRRR.

    Take care,

    Tom

Thanks, Tom. I did try that same crop you suggested, when I first processed the shot. For me, it didn't work as well. The blue was not so obvious as a door, which was one of the main purposes for the shot. i decided the wall gave the shot more context. Great minds can differ . . . :D

Stay warm, but get busy making winter shots!

" Great minds can differ....". Ain't dat da truth. I was obviously attracted to an abstract version of the shot. I think my strong proclivity for color grabbed control of my senses.:D

It got down to 28 degrees on my veranda last night....we don't see a lot of those temps here in North Florida.

Those temps aren't good for the citrus growers . . . I'm always fascinated by footage of the lengths they have to go to for protecting their crops.

I'd forgotten you were back in FL. I was thinking you were still up in TN when I said "winter shots." I'll look forward to your doors and rust!

I like the fact that the snowflakes show up as well. Adds to the ambience.
