Hi all,
My brother, who is also a photographer in NYC (like I don't have enough competition) asked me to shoot him for his new website which should be up soon.

This was my first shoot of the year, taken on new year's day, great way to start the year :clap.

C&C always welcome.
On a sidenote, he caught himself doing "the pout", the great thing about him being my client was that I could say "Um that's douchey" and he would know exactly what I mean :D.

3. This is the one he chose. He tweaked it further for slightly more detail by his head. (He is the only one I've ever given editing powers to, it's a little like handing over your kid you know).

4. My favorite from the session, though this was not posed. It was an outtake, he was smoothing his hair down after taking off his hat and he pretended to llick his hands and it got us both laughing.

lately I've been asking my clients to do jump shots at the end of the session. It's a great fun way to close it out and it's funny because people now want the jump shot :)
too bad his shadow had such an unfortunate outcome.

Omg Liz rolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gifrolleyes1.gif "too bad his shadow had such an unfortunate outcome" iloveyou.gif Brilliant.

Are you using the 5d exclusively now, or do you still use the Oly?

Like these a lot - my favorite is probably the outtake, although I can see why he wouldn't have chosen it for the website. My only nit on the one he chose is the flare across his sleeve in the lower rh corner - can't put my finger on it, but it's just kind of.... odd. I'd consider editing it out.

good stuff liz..the 1st shot I would clone out the brigh spot on the right side of the frame as it draws my eye away

I like 1 and the last two. Of course the first one is the nice guy and fairly standard pose.
The fourth one has more pitch to it and tells more about the person, and the last one is really nice with the shadow throw on the ground. A bit unlucky that she did fall next to the tree.(a higher sun might have worked). But still nice.... good jobclap.gif

Get serious. You couldn't have done that any better if you'd tried. Ouch!

thanks Diva! At least it was only on his shadow:)

My favorite is the outtake too (they seem to be my strength) go figure.

I liked the flare, so left it in thinking he will likely clone it out anyway for the reasons you mentioned.

yup saw that Qarik--when I handed them over I mentioned it to him since I gave him further editing rights. but it turns out he is not using that shot anyway.

by the way, did you notice I did not cut off any heads (except the outtake)-- :)

    Thanks.
The first is pretty standard, but I am always a fan of a lot of unused space, so I was drawn to it myself.

The last shot :) it's a keeper in my book, I just didnt' see the shadow until it was processing time and then I was too busy snickering.
At the end of the shoot, I did a jumpshot myself, it involved a crash landing. I wish all shoots were THIS much fun.
