D4 improvements

here is what I see as improvements over the d3s (video ignored)

1) more pixels of course, but not too much!
2) anecdotally I have read that iso quality is as good or slightly better then d3s..this is an improvement on some level as there are more pixels, this will play out as time goes by and more images appear
3) base 100 iso, this can help with mid day shooting and increase the the effectiveness of the 1/250s flash
4) +1 fps
5) one issue with awesome iso performance is that you need to be able to focus in the dark, focus is now capable to -2eV (moonlight!)..I think that is 1eV better? not quite sure
7) the metering sensor goes from 1k pixels to 85k-ish
8) faster expeed processor and memory card for longer rapid shooting
9) supposed improved AF performance (this will have to play out as well, difficult to mesaure)
10) ergonomic upgrades for portrait orientation (add joystick for moving around the AF point)
11) larger improved screen with close to sRGB color space

some fun stuff:

in camera HDR, time lapse movie mode, wireless wifi connectivity (remote ipad, iphone controllable), facial recognition

Exactly like you say- it's a great update to an already great camera in an already great system of cameras. I'll be looking to pick up a 2nd dirt-cheap used D700 most likely, while I save for more exciting things like lenses.
