Jeeze I don't know yet. I went to see Sherry (boat gal) & didn't; but spoke to Jeff Clark. I got the feeling they don't have their act together yet. I'm guessing they're trying to monetize the event.

I'm going to shoot Pipeline for the first time Mid Jan with a V1 (2.7 crop), I can hardly wait... mwink.gif

It good to see you're still kicking. These shots were at Scots Creek, Waddle was empty.

Hope to see you here or there....

Cool shots! The kite in #2 almost looks like a sunset! :giggle

I'm getting the impression in shooting surf sports that you end up with a lot of silhouettes of your athletes. Just the nature of the beast I guess, and you made the most of it.

If you were on the east coast the lighting would be better.... :D.

Here they call it cold water surfing. Everybody wears a wet suit, they're a silhouette in good light. Pretty boring. But you can get nice colors on backlit waves with lovely silhouettes of free range kelp.

But the contest dress code is different, they wear different colored T shirts. It's a boost, albeit a small one.

Here is a shot from the SF Bay

Definitely do not have their act together yet. I've been dealing with Susan and Jessica (PR and media) re. the media boat, and they seem a bit overwhelmed.

Was this taken by Crissy Field? I see a lot of kite surfers there, especially the newbies.

Nah, off of 3rd Ave near the San Mateo Bridge. The Bay surfers get a lot of air, but it isn't as challenging as the ocean.

    It gets repetitive real fast

OK, I know that place as well. Great shots, BTW!! Love the close-up first shot.

Are you planning to shoot Mavericks? If so let me know and maybe we can meet up. I'm still trying to snag a place on the media boat.

I'd like to if it fits.

Jacobov probably has a lottery ticket saying I'll get sick again. I have the pills, but he might win anyway... :D

I'm excited about going to Hawaii mid Jan, it would be nice to shoot the pipe and catch the Eddie.

If I can do it, I will. Maybe you and Jacobov can hang together
