search result gallery?

In a gallery i created recently, when searching for a keyword in the search box on the site, it shows the results as expected; the issue is that when the resulting images are shown, as soon as you click on one, it takes you to the image in the main gallery, not a gallery of your search-term images.

ideally, a user would input the search term, then when the results are displayed, they would click to view an image and be able to scroll through just the images from the query.

This seems non-intuitive and make me think I am missing something Anyone have any idea?

Thanks

I realized that the results that I am looking for are actually displayed by searching for keywords. for example if you just search "noelle" you get the gallery results I mentioned earlier in this thread, however, if you search "noelle" from the home page of my site [ www.alangeer.com ], then cick the keyword search results it returns, you get exactly the results gallery I want:

    http://www.alangeer.com/keyword/noelle

so I guess the question is to get the search box to be a keyword-specific search box.

    Any ideas?
    Many thanks!

    Hi Alan,

The different sections on the search results page work differently. If you click on a keyword in the keyword results, you'll get to a keyword gallery with all photos that have the keyword.
Clicking on any thumbnail in the photo results section, will bring you directly to the photo in the gallery.
Here's a screenshot of the search results page for reference:

Thanks Sebastian for all the help and effort!

I have a better idea now about how it works, my challenge is that in trying to instruct various parents [soccer moms] in seeing a gallery of just their child, they have trouble following the [fairly] simple instructions and I end up getting a response back with questions.

So ultimately I am wanting the search box at the top of my page to act like the dedicated search box for keywords - so when they type in their childs name, they will get a keyword gallery of specifically their childs images.

Since the technology exists, cant the search box on my site be a specific keyword search box to return a keyword gallery? I am happy to pay for this if there is someone that knows how to program it.

    Many thanks!

    - Alan

    Alan,
Can you start a new thread in the customization forum?
    http://www.dgrin.com/forumdisplay.php?f=31
There the customization helpers and experts may be able to help you get set up with a custom search that would allow visitors to enter a specific keyword and directly be redirected to the keyword gallery in question.
