Thanks. It was really windy that night so I had a hard time steadying tripod in conditions. I am also realizing how hard it is to focus at night without being able to auto focus. Do any of you more experienced night shooters have any pointer on focusing?
Sometimes it's as simple as turning off autofocus and setting the lens to infinity. Depends on you f/stop and where there is anything close enough in the foreground to worry about. Another trick I have used is to use a flashlight to illuminate a foreground object you want to be sure is in focus, get the camera to focus, and then lock the focus so it doesn't change.
