Rocky Mountain National Park in the Fall

Thought I'd post a few photos taken just a week after receiving my first DSLR in October 2010. These were shot with either my kit lens, or an old pawn shop Sigma 70-200 manual lens.

I live 30 minutes from Rocky Mountain National Park, so I am usually in the park at least once a month for camping, hiking, fishing, etc..

The weather wasn't too great, so the scenes were a little dark, and I didn't learn about RAW shooting yet, so these were all in .jpg.

Some very cool shots! Looks like a beautiful part of the world to be living in.The jpgs actually rendered the colours nicely, even if the sky might be a tad over-saturated.Sounds like we've both been shooting DSLRs for about the same period of time, I picked my one up in March of 2010 I think.

Dramatic, detailed, and beautiful shots of a very beautiful place. Those are skies to die for, compared to southern California!

Beautiful images. You really had some nice skies for the landscape shots. I'd have to say #2 was my favorite.

Those are great shots. I was there in late September. Looking at your pictures, I can see there are some areas I didn't visit and some things I didn't see - especially animals. I didn't see any.

What? No animals? Man..when I lived in Denver 1999-2002, you'd always at least see the massive elk herd in the park. Unless they've thinned them out some... Sometimes buffalo as well..

Very nice series I especially enjoyed #2 and #8, some great vistas. also some good elk shots, it appears you may have a color cast issue.
