Upgrade but no link to old URL

I upgraded to Power account yesterday. I have to say I'm disappointed that anyone going to my old URL will not be automatically redirected to my new custom URL. Any way to include that when one upgrades? :huh

Hi Patti, long time no talk!
What, what... What old url? Is it a custom domain? That can be easily connected to your SmugMug account. Please tell me more and I promise you won't be disappointed.

Hey Andy! How's Nancy? I upgraded from standard smugmug to power smugmug yesterday and changed my URL to pattihintonphotography.com. When I go to my old smugmug site copperbee.smugmug.com I get a dead end "no photos here" message. Doesn't it automatically redirect folks to my new smugmug addy?

The old nickname link will always work, did you change your nickname?
It takes awhile for a domain to activate, maybe 24 hrs in some cases.
BTW, your new domain link works now.

Oh you changed your nickname at the same time? Ack. Yes, we don't do redirects from an old nickname to a new nickname, I'm sorry - how come you changed nicknames?

Bingo! I changed it to my domain name ie pattihintonphotography.

Another question: Can you have separate pages with toolbar on your home page with the power account or is that only with the pro account? For example a link to a blog?

So you can change it back still, if you like, up to you. The copperbee link I mean. pattihintonphotography.com will be the primary means that people use, anyhow.

Done and now the link works. Thanks Andy/Allen.

What's the "OP" next to my name on my avatar mean? "Old Phart"? I've not been around these parts for several months. Still getting used to the new site. Very nice btw.

I'd switch it back, that's the only way that anywhere that link is used will still work. Linked photos using
the old nickname still work though just the site link would not.

Using your domain no one will have any idea what your nickname is without digging into the html. Just
be sure any manually added links on your site like in navbar are switched to the domain or relative links.

OP means original poster in a thread or who started the thread.

Thanks Allen. Much better than Old Phart.

Can I do a nav bar with a power account? I thought that was just pro.

Thanks Andy. Couldn't figure out how to create an "about" page or 'contact' page. This helps.
