Not sure if they get a special winter weather coat or not.
Yes wind does make macro shots a pain- does have one blessing though- If you can actually find a bug they tend to stay very still. I've sometimes actually held the leaf they are sitting on with one hand whilst shooting with the other. :

I'm into macro stuff....just got my 10D and been goofing around.
I have a 28-90 coming with a 250D close-Up.

I was using a 300D in manual, 105mm EX macro lens with 31mm of extension rings , manual focus, 1/200th sec F13 Sigma 500 Super dg flash in ettl mode. Shot would have been taken at just under 1.5:1.
